Ram has unveiled the newest addition to the Ram Heavy Duty lineup, the 2023 Ram 2500 Heavy Duty Revel, which has been revealed at the State Fair of Texas. The Rebel fits in between the Laramie and Power Wagon trims, but it shares its face with the Power Wagon.
The 2500 Heavy Duty Rebel gets two engine options. The standard engine is the 6.4-liter Hemi V8 with 410 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque, that’s mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The other option is the turbocharged 6.7-liter Cummins straight six engine with 370 hp and 850 lb-ft. of torque.
The Rebel also gets a unique five-link coil suspension and a rear air suspension is optional. Other additions include skid plates, an electronic rear locker and rear limited-slip differential. It rides on 20-inch wheels that are wrapped in 33-inch off-road tires, but smaller 18-inch wheels will be available later.
Ram 2500 Heavy Duty Rebel is available in a crew cab configuration with a six-foot, four-inch box.
“Ram Heavy Duty Rebel buyers will enjoy that the newest addition to our versatile lineup offers a combination of off-road performance without having to sacrifice capability,” said Mike Koval Jr., Ram brand CEO – Stellantis. “Ram has a deep, rich and strong history of the most capable off-road trucks, and the new 2023 Ram Heavy Duty Rebel adds to that history while delivering the segment’s benchmarks in comfort, luxury materials, innovation and technology.”
The pricing for the 2023 Ram 2500 Heavy Duty Rebel starts at $68,940.
