GoBike Buffalo promises a Bike Month Celebration unlike any other

[ad_1]

40 participating organizations, 30+ events, dozens of promotions, discounts and giveaways

Did you know that May is National Bike Month? Luckily for us, there is an exciting month of rides, breakfasts, happy hours, discounts, and prizes already planned to have you riding your way through the city! As cycling increases all over the Queen City and surrounding region, our local businesses both small and large, are also joining in on the fun with over 40 participating organizations and 31 events.

Whether you plan to attend one of these events or not, make this May the month you change your habits and incorporate more riding, especially in a city that’s perfect for it. Whether you are a lifelong cyclist or new to the game, join in on all the fun this month and welcome in the sunny days that are ahead (I promise, they are almost here)!

The first major event of the month is Bike to School Day which will be conducted in the city of Buffalo this Wednesday morning May 4, Rain Or Shine.

Very young children and their parents will be out in force, learning all about the joy of riding their bikes to school. Let’s celebrate this push for sustainability, connectivity, and community-building through cycling at all ages. Drivers should slow down, put their phones down, be courteous and let’s all get where we’re going safely and happily. We can do it, City of Good Neighbors!

Whereas all children are encouraged to ride across the region, GObike will be working specifically with the children of two schools in the city. Here are the slow zones to be especially aware of:

Surrounding PS 32 – BENNETT PARK MONTESSORI SCHOOL 8A – 9A

  • Clinton @ Essex
  • Clinton @ Pine
  • Clinton Between Downtown And Pine
  • Washington Street Between Genesee and Clinton
  • Roosevelt Square

Surrounding PS 64 – OLMSTED SCHOOL 7A – 8A

  • Amherst @ Lincoln
