Scott bikes come in a wide range of options, covering virtually all areas of cycling. The iconic brand has been around for 60 years, and was responsible for revolutionising skiing before moving into the bike market. Scott bikes have been ridden to victory by the likes of Nino Schurter, Matteo Trentin and Caleb Ewan, and if you want to stay on top of the latest Scott news and reviews, this is the only place you need to look.
Scott Bikes: a brief history
Scott was founded in 1958 in Sun Valley, Idaho and began as a manufacturer of aluminium ski poles before it branched out into a huge range of other sectors in the sporting goods industry. These days the brand produces bikes for a whole range of disciplines, but it cut its teeth with mountain bikes, introducing its first model way back in 1986.
Just a few years later in 1989, Scott produced one of the most significant innovations in the history of cycling: the aerodynamic handlebar used by Greg Lemond in his 1989 Tour de France win. Away from the road, Scott has also had huge success in XC mountain bike racing, with Olympic gold medallist and six-time World Champion Nino Schurter piloting various iterations of its top-end Spark and Scale to a ludicrous number of wins over the years.
